In the summer of 1992 CAGE formed out of the ashes of 2 of San Diego’s premier metal bands NOMAD and CRUSHER with the sole purpose of creating head banging heavy metal that would make the grand masters proud! Now after years of a growing legion of metal head witnesses, critical acclaim, festival appearances, and 4 award winning albums, in 2009 CAGE will finally do their first proper European tour! Having been joined by former PSYCHOTIC WALTZ drummer Norm Leggio, CAGE has truly put the POWER back in POWER METAL with their fifth and most blasting release yet entitled SCIENCE OF ANNIHILATION.

With their debut cd UNVEILED, CAGE surprised everyone by delivering such a pure heavy metal record that struck at the heart of the alternative, grunge movement, impaling it with its’ metalness. This garnered them major attention and fans of ROCK HARD magazine voted them best unsigned band of 1999. Two years later the astonishing ASTROLOGY record was released which seemed as if it was CAGE 10 years later. Such rapid development had seldom been seen and the fans and critics alike embraced CAGE for their unequaled ability to combine the classic heavy metal feel with a new millennium identity all their own. They soon played many festivals and were direct support to bands like IRON MAIDEN and JUDAS PRIEST on occasion. DARKER THAN BLACK was their next release and in 2004 metal had an all time classic bestowed upon the masses. Fans and media swarmed to hail the record as a masterpiece as CAGE won several cd of the month and album of the year awards for this diverse yet powerful sounding heavy metal classic. Surely such an album could never be topped but CAGE shocked everyone once again with their epic end of the world concept cd HELL DESTROYER. Once again acclaim was immense but an entire new legion of fans discovered CAGE from the attention that this ultimate tale of Heaven versus Hell received.

With their follow up to the epic HELL DESTROYER, SCIENCE OF ANNIHILATION sees CAGE pushing their boundaries yet again in every department. With tracks like PLANET CRUSHER, SPEED KILLS, and THE SCARLET WITCH, be prepared to feel the need to turn it up, get in your car and drive fast as Hell! All of the classic CAGE heavy metal sound is intact and found all throughout this 12 track smasher!. Like all previous CAGE offerings these songs will stick in your mind and cause many sleepless nights! In May of 2009 CAGE with be criss-crossing the continent to build on their reputation as one of the best live performers in metal today. This will be a very special tour as each show will be a cd release party of its’ own! SCIENCE OF ANNIHILATION will be available first ONLY where the tour stops and CAGE performs. Only after the tour is complete will the cd be released through retailers so the emphasis is for the purest and truest to come out and be part of the ultimate POWER METAL PARTY! CAGE will bring the music directly to the heavy metal fans and personally hand the cd to those that will be there live, to share the CAGE experience.
